Sunday Grocery Shopping

Sundays after church is our regular grocery shopping time. We hit Sams Club and then WalMart or wherever we need to go. Since we go to the noon service Jansen tends to knock off for a little snooze between church and Sams. Sometimes he's out more than others... case in point. I had so many people say things like "I need one of those... which aisle did he come from" that day, but since Richard wasn't home from Montgomery yet & I didn't have my baby carrier (which he STILL fits quite comfortably in) and I needed my hands to push the cart so I couldn't carry him this was the solution I could come up with. It didn't seem to phase him at all and in fact he didn't wake up until check out, at which point he reached into my bag, grabbed my wallet, and took out my credit card to swipe in the machine. We're doomed when this kid reaches teens if he ALREADY swipes the card practically asleep!

Austin's 15th Birthday

For Austin's 15th birthday we decided to go all out. With new school, new friends, etc. We decided that JM and I would set him up right! He had a one-hour limo fide reserved which took him and a couple friends to the mall to watch a movie and then we had dinner out at the house... his choice - enchiladas and cake with ice cream. OH and the BEST part was his Dad came down to surprise him!!

The cool kids coming out of the school to the Limo...

The boys getting into the limo. Austin wouldn't let us take posed pics there at the school. Our intention was to get them at the mall where the limo was supposed to drop them off for the movie an hour later, BUT the driver didn't drive them around OR leave them at the right entrance like he was supposed to (even though we specifically said we would see him at the mall at 4 for better pics) so we didn't get any more than this one of the limo and the boys. The limo was a hummer limo though so it WAS super cool even if the ride got cut short.

The guys enjoying the enchiladas. The boys had decided to walk the mall for several hours after the movie so it ended up that only one of the two got to come out and eat after all.

Cards from lands afar (Grandma and Grandpa / Ellen and Ralph)...

The cake I made for him...

Blowing out the candles (though I told him it looked like he was trying to kiss the cake)...

Austin and JM...

It still freaks me out that the little boy that moved away to SC is now as tall as his Daddy!

Jansen got his new Sponge Bob jammies from Uncle JM so he had to wear them with the boys and get his pic too!

My poor shrimp isn't even close to competing for the male family members height gene yet. Even standing on the coffee table he barely grazes a belt line on the guys. This is evidence though that there is height on my side and not just Daddy's so sooner or later it's bound to kick in right?

Mustang Football

We (Jansen and I) went to the first Mustang home game with Kristyn, Jimmy, and James. James is a football nut of any sort so we figured if we wanted to hang with him on a weekend in the fall, then we needed to find a game that we'd all want to see! Jimmy loved Max the Mustang (played by one of my very favorite people) but Jansen doesn't like her as Max (he kinda freked out) he only likes her as her human self... so Jimmy was the only one with the picture with Max!

There comes a point in the game when the tots need a closer view of the action!

The boys high fiving and fist bumping all on their own.

Jansen has his Great Grandpa Harv's blood in him somewhere! He directs the band every time we've been to watch them since he was old enough to hold himself up. Problem is that I've NEVER been able to catch him on video doing it, but he did dance for me and try to snap to them this time!

Hunka-hunka Harley Man

Jansen was intrigued by Laura's daughter's motorcycle when we'd go over to swim so one day Laura just put him up on it. He started making engine noises and reaching for the handlebars right away. Frighteningly adorable!

Science Saturday: Pond Life

Our local nature center has Science Saturdays that start in the fall. Each week there is a different theme. The first one was Pond Life so Kristyn and I took Jansen and Jimmy. It was pretty cool! They got to make projects, explore the pond area, take water samples and look at them under a microscope. OK, so really Kristyn and I got to look at them under the scope since the boys didn't figure that part out, but they did participate in all the rest. After we participated in the program we walked the butterfly house and the picnic area too. It was a really great afternoon!

Summer Vid

A video that I found on my phone that I had forgotten about from our Wisconsin trip this summer. Here's Jansen eating his first ever ice cream cone that is ALL his!
