Reading is Exhausting!

Jansen and Mommy were reading together last Saturday. He started falling asleep and just flung himself full out (book included) and started snoring. I guess reading is tough work for a baby!! He knocked out for 4 hours on this round!! I on the other hand got to finish reading The Shack in only 2 days since he napped so well!!

I'm getting so big!

Jansen is getting so big that I just had to get a pic showing him all stretched out this week. We're a long way from the 5 pounds we started at!!

Ad- "visor"

"Oh my Gosh!!! You caught me being cute again!!"

Just a look at this cute outfit with a matching visor! We actually had two outfits with visors, but his head was too small until just recently. Now both outfits are getting too small, but the visors finally fit!!

Catching up!

It's been a wild couple of weeks going back to school and having morning rehearsals for my High School One-Act Play, but I have gotten a couple of pics to add so I'll try to do that really quick! Sory for the delay guys!!

Crazy start to 2009!

We have started the new year running! We got to ring it in with Grandma and Grandpa from Wisconsin here to meet Jansen. Jonathan even got to come at the end of their visit so everyone got to visit together the last couple of days! It was sooooooo awesome!

After Grandma and Grandpa left. Jonathan and I started back up at school. I don't think either of us was quite ready, but we weren't really given a choice. The state doesn't consult us personally before making the requirements! Jonathan will now start prepping for his standardized tests this year pretty hardcore and I will be full swing into prepping for my One-Act play competion with my high schoolers. I wish that were all I had to focus on, but the spring is always crazy and this one will be no exception. I have so much I want to do with my classes and I will be getting a second student teacher in a few weeks. I waited 6 years for one and now I have the pleasure of 2 in one year!!

All in all it has taken me a couple of weeks to get the blog updated... sorry. I will try in all this craziness to do a better job of keeping up. I wasn't, however, going to compromise on my time with our company by being on the computer!! It just simply wasn't an option to be on here instead of enjoying them!! It was worth having to be on and off all day to get caught up!!

Once again... love to all our family and friends and enjoy the updates. It may take you a bit to get through them all, but they are worth it!!

Stac

Gentleman

So we can tell that Jansen will be quite a Ladies Man by the way he flirts... already, but it is Mommy's goal that he will at least be a gentleman as well. Here we can see that he's practicing his lessons even in his sleep (tipping his hat) with his dream girls!

Veggies!!!

So just today we started veggies. We tried sweet potatoes.... here's the result.

"Are you kidding me? They taste sooo much better 'filtered' through Mommy!!"

"I'm telling you.... I'd rather eat my veggies the other way!!"

"Fine. If you're going to make me do this, I'll do it myself!!"

Yum!!

We are getting better at this eating thing, but it has taken some practice!!

5 months

So on January 7th, my baby was 5 months old. I can't even believe how fast time is moving!

5 months of growing and doing all these new things is exhausting... for both Mommy and Jansen!
Here we're sneaking a nap before supper!!

Can't get over how cute this little guy is!! Here he still looks a bit like a baby, but I was getting a little sad earlier in the week because in profile (when he's awake and active) Jansen is getting his little boy face and losing his baby-ness.

" I am reading already. I must keep up on the latest news with my Daddy!!"

"Oops... caught me!! My secrets out. Hopefully they'll still read to me because I like that!"

With the boys

Grandma and Grandpa get a great pic with the Grand-boys!!

This is the first visit Grandma and Grandpa have ever had with Jansen. He was a long time coming for them. I believe they had given up on me having any grandbabies for them!! He may end up being the only one from me, but we have Jonathan too and they think the world of him!!

Happy Family

Jonathan got to come for the weekend and see Grandma and Grandpa from Wisconsin!!

Grandpa wasn't quite ready on this one, but I couldn't resist how adorable Jonathan looks here!!

This is a nice one of all the people!! Darn but we're a good lookin' bunch, huh?

This one is just for the Code-ster! We all still look about the same, except Jansen trying to escape from Grandma, but Cody is looking pretty for the camera.

The first we saved for Grandma and Grandpa!!

We saved starting solids until Grandma and Grandpa were here!! We started New Year's Eve with Rice cereal. Jansen eats off of a spoon great, but is totally not sure about this rice cereal!!

First bite...

Eeeewwww!!!

We did get in a few more bites!

The Code-meister

Grandma and Grandpa got to meet the "meathead!" Actually he's a great dog, especially with the kids, but he is sometime a little bit of a goober. Grandpa got some good shots of him here to see just how big he is and how shiny he can be!!

Dino-mite!

Just a super cute outfit and some great pics on it!!

Scruba-dub!

One of our latest baths...

Little Lady's Man in his bathrobe!

Bath time is Daddy's time with Jansen, but Mommy helps a little, like holding the towel.

"Hey... no fair tickling in the tub!"

New toys for everyone!

Grandma and Grandpa brought new toys for everyone!! Richard and I got a bigger TV for the living room and Jansen got a jumper (among other things)!

Hee-hee!! We surprised Richard on this one setting up our new toy!

Mmmm! Yummy rings!

"I figured out this jumpy thing and I think I'm lovin' it!!"

Medicine Park

Before we got to the Wichita Mts. we stopped off in Medicine Park. They have some cool scenery there too!

Daddy challenged Grandma to walk out on some of the rocks in the water. Actually he challenged both Mommy and Grandma, but Mommy is too clumsy anymore when it was too cold to get wet, so Grandma was the brave one!! We just had to get proof!! She never even got a splash on her.

Hanging out a little way from the dam. It looked pretty neat! And look... there's even a few trees there, unlike here at home!

Wichita Mountains Trip

We took a day trip to Wichita Mountians and stopped on top of Mt. Scott... We also went to see the Prarie Dog Fields and the Holy City, but Grandpa's camera is so much better than ours that his pictures take too long to load the "non-people" pics on the blog!!

Daddy and Jansen chilling out waiting for the rest of us to catch up!

The three of us caught resting.

Grandma and Grandpa atop Mt. Scott! What ever you do, don't look down Grandma!!!

Boys vs. Girls...

...the baby holding edition!!

Grandpa's Turn

It was hard for Grandma to share, but we did get Jansen pried away long enough for Grandpa to get a few snuggles in!!

Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma hardly put Jansen down... even when he wore his Chicago Bears shirt from Auntie Burnie and Uncle Rhet! I know Cousin John in South Carolina is doing the "WaHoo Dance" to celebrate Burnie and Rhet's victory for the Bears!!

Grandma did make a bit of a compromise though... she'd just cover up the offensive part and snuggle the baby!! How's that Chicago-ites?!?!

Grandma and Grandpa from Wisconsin came to visit us for the New Year. We had such a wonderful visit!! We even saved a first for them to be here for... more on that later!!
