Traveling to WI

I'm not sure if I was clever or crazy, BUT for our 3 week vacation in Wisconsin I packed the boys and both dogs into my little Ford Focus and we headed out. I wasn't sure where we were going to stay that was pet friendly (and budget conscious) so I had thought to camp. Trying to do so in a tent was rather daunting with no other adult help, so Richard suggested checking into KOA's. It turned out to be a GREAT idea! Most are pet friendly; many don't even charge a pet deposit; they have dead bolt locking doors; they have A/C; the list goes on! Pretty much all the cabins are the same floor plan so I didn't take pics everywhere. These are from our first stop in Springfield, Missouri. It is a really nice place AND they even had an off-leash dog park so the pooches even got to play!

The Cabin we stayed in...
...Cute, huh?

Jonathan loved the door latch with the arm and slot so we had to take a pic!

Our Canine kiddos had their own cozy spaces for us to set up the kennels even!

View from our front door looking in. (Notice the A/C!)

Nutrigrain breakfast bars on the porch swing in the morning! The boys really loved the porch swing. Maybe when we finally get a nice big deck we'll have to add one of these!

We also stayed in Springfield, IL on the way up to WI. It was a nice place overall, but they had just had a storm so it was REALLY buggy. We couldn't even enjoy our stay there because we were swarmed each time we tried to go outside. We even tried to swim because they had a nice pool, too so that was a bummer. The campground was quite a little way off the beaten path, as well, so if we were actually going camping for camping's sake it would have been a great choice (if we had thought to bring an insect fogger), but for our quick one-night stay is was a bit out of the way.
