18 Months

Oh Geez! My BABY is 18 months! Just when I get my head wrapped around him turning another month older he goes and does it again! I am still loving the toddler stage when everyday his vocabulary has grown, his understanding has increased, and everything is a new discovery! I spent my first weekend away from him the 5th to the 7th. It was tough, but it seems he and Daddy fared just fine without me. I also found that THREE of his stinky molars have broken through and now it's just that pesky 4th that is giving him a hard time. He also has his 4 front on top and his 4 front on bottom all in now too. Teething (and being sick) are my very least favorite parts of these early years. I just can't find what relieves the teething pain for him. The teething tablets don't work at all (tried several brands), Tylenol and Motrin - eh, Oragel or Anbesol - nada, Teething rings/Teethers he spits out or throws down anymore, and his fingers are ALWAYS jammed in his mouth. It even gets to the point sometimes that he's grabbed MY finger and shoved it in there to chomp down on, but still nothing works for him except for those buggers to break through. Everything is "mama" these last couple of days. He says it for everything, then looks at me and grins waiting for the correction on the 'real' words for things. He knows them, but for some reason loves to say 'mama' right now and I'm not going to stop him! It is the sweetest music to my ears EVER! Who cares if I have become everything from the dog to the toilet! Now I do say the right word for things after he says 'mama' for them, but I still love the way it rolls off his tongue! I just can't wait for this summer to spend more time with my SugarBear!
