This is something I wanted to do for Houston back when I lived in Nebraska. Someone actually got me a Home Depot gift card at her baby shower because they have the ABC foam puzzle pieces there (I think they were cheaper than WalMart) ..
That's a really GOOD idea for your space with the hardwood floors.
